Lucky ending, but funny movie 'Wandeuggi'

The movie 'Wandeuggi' is a joy. But it also does not have much in the chest. It is not so serious despite the fact that it handles social sensitive material called 'multicultural family'.

That part is unfortunate. No matter how serious the material is, it was too cool considering the taste of the generation these days, who show resistance when squeezing tears. It should have left an impression that this kind of casting would ring something in my chest. Even so, the feeling of watching movies is refreshing. Is not this movie's popularity in Korea due to this "freshness"?


I personally like this poster. It smells of people. This is also the attraction of this movie. We can see the people of this era in this movie 'Wandeuggi'. The images of our neighbors living in a multi-family house are depicted as they are. They are really 'ordinary people'. What would it be for a Filipino to have one person here? We are all the same human.

At this point, important messages are delivered to us. They are the same people as us before we consider nationality and race. The moment we forget this simple truth, we are going to treat them with unbelievable prejudices.


Now let 's go to see our hero 'Wandeuggi'. He is a high school student armed with tricks. The above picture shows his character well.

 It is a figure that explodes the anger of a neighbor 's nerd who risked his father' s car. By this time, nobody can stop him. He punches the nerd with an animal action. He has built up a wall with his studies, but he fights well. That's what brings him to the world of kickboxing.


This guy is Dongju who is the teacher of Wandeuggi. He is too free to be seen as a teacher. Wandeuggi is irritable. He says "What is that teacher?"

However, Dongju arranges for the meeting of Wandeuggi and his mother. He is a wonderful man to know.


Dongju plays an important connector in this film. He closes a meeting with  Filipino mother that Wandeuggi was reluctant to do so. This part is the heart of the film, but it is so thin. It should have been more dramatic. The process of meeting him and her mother should be described in more detail.


The movie 'Wandeuggi' can be enjoyed without any burden. Although the ending was a bit ridiculous, I think that it delivered the message to convey. Above all, it is human. So I feel comfortable.
There is an 'empty corner' in this film where people who are tired from the competitive society can stay.
